The first dispute concerns tea. He denies having the smoky tea on an earlier visit; she says he had it on both visits and apologizes. He then remembers the tea cooling while he spoke about his sister but lets her apology stand. Later she repeats the question and admits losing the thread. The two moments should remain separate. Her later lapse does not make his earlier denial true or remove his decision to leave her apology uncorrected.

Touch follows an explicit sequence. She offers ten counts and says he can stop her. He nods, and her hand settles between his shoulders. He asks her to remove it at four; she promptly does so. He then wants it back without asking, while she waits with both hands visible. The card states the hand's maintained warmth. His unspoken wish does not supply renewed permission, and knowing the specification does not help him make the request.

At forty-nine minutes, after paying for forty, he declines an offer of the same table next week. His receipt nevertheless says next week was requested. The nine-minute difference can be calculated, but its billing is unstated. The slot thanks him in her voice, as does the door; he hears it again on the bus. At his stop his hands remain on his knees and the doors close. The receipt's version and his shown refusal remain apart.
