Repair leaves marks on Cem's body. Made hands close on his bare forearm before going home, leaving bruises that turn from yellow to green. The concealed night-light presses its prongs into his thigh, and those marks remain. These traces establish labor and bodily involvement. They do not establish ownership. The repaired hands are returned, whereas the father eventually receives only the night-light's emptied shell.
The father brings the agreed balance and asks for the light back. Cem opens it again, removes its battery, board and speaker still wired together, and puts the working parts in his tin. He returns the shell. The father leaves it on the bench and takes back his money. Cem then carries the loose works after him with the prayer playing. Payment, casing and functioning device have gone in different directions.
The underpass accommodates other kinds of care. Nuri lends Cem part of his bench and feeds a pigeon with an injured wing, stopping his work when it beats against the drawer. Nearby, a folding table offers paid disappearance. Cem points toward it; the father's nod does not settle what he wants done. On the stairs, Cem stops two steps below him. Shelter for the repairer coexists with a father's unanswered demand for his property.
