Fourteen. Export

The export counter separates a license from a playable recording. Foreign premises cannot host the responding continuation. Paying a duty greater than twice the flight price would buy playback without an answering presence. Unexported recordings remain for an unspecified statutory period. Her departure does not itself end the local license; it runs through the month she pays for. Her mother's glasses case travels free. These distinctions belong to this case, not a complete law of every departure.

The annotated paperback falls between neighboring classifications. One clerk calls it personal material, another a used book. The screen offers personal recordings, and its box reopens after the export clerk closes it. He turns the screen away and tells her to keep the book in her hand. That is help, but the story does not show the system formally accepting his decision.

The departure carries several kinds of keeping. The painted tin replaces the license on the shelf and later holds the glasses case. The final receipt occupies the folder's passport position. The aunt's red thread is untied and taken toward the trash, then pocketed. The glasses case keeps its stiff hinge. None of those objects becomes equivalent to the licensed continuation or proves the thread's protective power.
