Names do not make departments agree.
Meral · care liaison
At the maternity desk she keeps the printer beside the empty tag. In Retention she brings a familiar book and contests its inclusion in the charges. In Aired Quarterly her call conflicts with the window notice. During the interruption's aftermath she reads the boxes again. She cannot simply authorize what care requires.

Sava · Measures
He records twenty-three where the lift sheet says nineteen, but initially withholds a witness to the wage deduction. Later he lets the driver photograph the card. At the column his warning is returned, while an order bearing his own stamp is used against a line he wants kept.

The clerk at handover
Thirty years at the ledger do not yield a clean exit. An inquiry settles her debts, then makes her the payer. She transfers that line to a replacement who is not told what happened. The borrowed novel helps select the successor; the finger beside the signature completes the transfer.

Idris and the corrector
The young colleague who calls the graves units is named when the corrector asks. Her name is told to him but not supplied to the reader. Neither is renamed here. They share a flask, speech and a laugh outside the categories of the tablet.

Care, refusal, an unfinished affiliation
A few people at the points where help changes hands.
Cem and Nuri
Cem repairs machines that notices say must stop. Nuri gives him space at the key-cutting bench and tends an injured pigeon. Cem’s preservation becomes a refusal to let the father decide whether the working night-light is returned or discarded. Their trade and kindness do not make them one moral position.

Esen
At the Second Thursday, the organizer of the exchanged folders tells them her name is Esen. The mother makes her responsible to a child's lunchtime. Esen holds the closing door with a shoe; the changed companion later uses the shoe to contest its own victory caption.

Suna
She wants her mother's name to matter and wants a place on the balcony. Taking the blood out of the Pool exposes a disagreement over who may dispose of it. Bringing it back does not settle her affiliation. Her final grip protects a tube while overriding the donor's spoken request.
Related stories: The Pool
Rauf and Lida
Rauf has said ready while Lida remains under the shroud. The microphone credits her with the all-clear. The rescue injures him and leaves her hurt; the director still manages her exposure and audibility. Biscuit's later return is identifiable; the man beside him in The Liminal remains unnamed.

Animals, voices and incomplete identities
Recurring beings, without a solved genealogy.
The fish-market cat
Her accuracy can humiliate and hurt. Devices preserve surrounding sound while her speech returns as room-tone. The sayings travel through mouths, especially children's. The market cat also appears at the column. A gray talking cat is on the hill in the final story; their relation remains open. What the market cat paid for speech is withheld.

Biscuit
Biscuit takes the scissors during the rescue and delays their return through a game Rauf has taught him. The final shoe is an invitation to play. Later an unnamed man returns a visitor's shoe after first keeping his hands behind his back and walking away. Naming the dog supports the return; naming the man would go beyond that scene.

The parrot
The secondhand bird speaks through an uncleared personality. The mother keeps it, answers its ranking silently and hears its account of relays. Other characters try to place its story in a book. That does not place the bird in either of the famous novels.

The other animals
Nuri's pigeon interrupts the cutting of keys. Nadir's tortoise remains with his cousin after he takes the airport bus. The goat doubts the usefulness of the funicular. These lives need not be made into messengers, omens or another metered service to belong in the city.

Rooms maintained, rooms used
The same accommodation can hold different claims.
The wing
Three feet of stone make a wrist only a wrist. The standpipe, chapel school, reversed locks and unpaid doctor support life there. The hardship offer promises access the residents lack. Registration does not resolve the unlabeled vote: 31 stand by the gate, 37 by the wall; 19 households register.
Related stories: The Wing
The kept room
Airing preserves an absent person’s bed while another person works inside the room. The keeper’s knees, husband and kitchen sleep are part of what the service record does not show. The room can offer rest, but the owner’s request to restore it shows how conditional that offer remains.
Related stories: Aired Quarterly
The kitchen with applications
A call for someone to sit with a mother becomes a place where people apply to replace current officials. The daughter can demand work of the clerk who removed her notice. The mother interrupts that reversal: she still needs to be asked which side.
Related stories: Situations Vacant
The room offered by the altered companion
The altered booklet opens empty rooms and keeps photographs visible. One carrier asks for a key back; another stays on the landing. It also asks for hours or an address. Its permitted blank does not answer who will possess those details later.

Places beside a passage
Connections supported by the current stories.
Pontoon, bank and channel
Households teach from the bank; the dead repeat and are audited before crossing. The pontoon supplies the city's distance reference. The column records changing datums beside the water. These functions connect the place; the diagram does not give a complete plan of both banks.

Post-office palace
Export occupies the third floor between parcels and quiet-boxes. A file may travel where a license cannot. In a quiet-box another man follows the continuation service's menus. The building holds both a border procedure and a repeated attempt to hear a familiar breath.
Related stories: Export, Press Nine
The Tank and the baths
The Tank occupies the drained cistern; its bands track owing and its chosen night becomes a display. Under the dome, the baths give relief as well as labor performed by another body. Neither pleasure nor the loss of a phone signal guarantees freedom from other people.
Related stories: The Tank, Enough
The last stop and the hill
The funicular stops before the ascent ends. A counted route can be supplied while an official distance is withheld. The monastery offers food and rest; the priest says state funding reaches it. Neither the leaflet’s claim nor the open gate settles its independence, its time or why the final visitor does not descend yet.

Words and accounts
Keep the units separate.
Crossing
The fare is words of proven retention, checked against manifests. One taught word per dawn does not guarantee one retained at audit. The Rate shows lending among eleven people at the bank, an audited crossing and a later rise to three hundred. The names charge of one hundred has no explicit unit in that sentence.

The paid voice
In The Last Word, two recorded words earn money. The money helps the mother, but cannot simply buy the father's missing retained words. A copy of the first take costs half the fee. A breath can move while the accepted number remains the same. These are linked economies, not interchangeable tokens.
Related stories: The Last Word
Continuation
A continued voice, a recording, a standard version and a living memory are treated differently. Export makes that distinction at the border. The receipts record payment rather than the unrecorded marriage. Warmth and accurate habits can be wanted, refused and wanted again without proving who inhabits the service.

Local exemptions
The maternity grace period is free, but recorded. Children cannot be fined for listening to the cat; that does not abolish charges around birth or school. The later finding records no charge for the interruption; the hour is marked unavailable for query, yet a schedule holds statements about it. Scope belongs to each provision.

Faith and the altered companion
Effects that can be shown; allegiances that cannot.
Faith does practical work
Prayer knots return a midwife to her task. A neighbor stays and makes soup for someone who will not pray. A chapel teacher passes bread to a skeptical child. A remembered blessing returns in a wedding. The effects are visible without requiring a common faith or a divine verdict.

The older kitchen
R-73 tells a story inherited from his mother: a meal welcomes people before a list begins sorting them. Competing versions of the list-maker remain. The young listeners offer bread and seek names. The resemblance to an Office is troubling; it does not by itself decide whether possible redress is another capture.

The sheets circulate
Extra staple holes mark the replacement companion. It appears around the mothers, the wing, domestic care and the Pool. Its carriers can offer help, claim a victory, demand access or disagree over a key. The book gives no certified membership roll, headquarters or single leader.

No promised clean replacement
The changed guide intends to change who gives orders while keeping Thursday renewals, the retained-word fare and the registers. That stated program belongs to its writers. The drawings trace what people do around it, not whether a new government will be better or whether the program will prevail.

The record beside the event
A final set of limits, rather than a correction key.
Authority can fail locally
The clinic and the service controlling the hand disagree. Attendance and Measures dispute their jurisdictions over a rescue. A warning is refused; a false entry saying the street was warned returns after Sava strikes it out. Two current notices order opposite things. These failures do not make the city harmless: people still lose pay, time, access or a chance to be heard.

Some contradictions are the action
The Secretary is physically present while the minutes use her recorded absence to disqualify her. An errata copy remains uncorrected beside a signed request for corrections. Rewriting either scene into consistency would remove what happens in it. The fictional errata never instructs this guide to change the actual book credit.

Open quantities and identities
The Wing's collective pronoun does not identify who opens the gate. The doorway and bed remain different accounts. A woman's living situation is not exhausted by the pronoun in the first-hour instructions. An echo, name proposal or matching object does not settle all those coordinates.

After the last figure
The final visitor offers water and later signs. The story has not supplied a new exit law, and the guide does not supply one. The separate Duration of stay field remains in the book. Its empty space is not missing data for this companion to fill.
