GRADER DESIGN — CANDIDATE v0.3 AMENDMENTS (filed beside v0.2; the author confirms a fixed object)

Version: candidate-0.3 · Status: CANDIDATE AMENDMENTS ONLY (S4i) — panel-delegated (S4i standing delegation), provisional-pending-author. Per the S4i adversary’s correction: whatever runs, runs the v0.2 text AS WRITTEN (GRADER_DESIGN_DRAFT.md, unmodified); every amendment produced this session files HERE, clearly separated, so the author confirms a fixed object (v0.2) and separately rules on these candidates. Context: the S4i panel’s item-5 disposition was FLIPPED by its adversary from seat-now to SHADOW-RUN, SEAT HELD (SESSION_S4I_RATIFICATION.md §1 item 5). The shadow run executed the v0.2 protocol as written; its outputs are in GRADER_SHADOW_LOG_S4I.md, every one face-labeled void-or-confirmed-wholesale at the author’s seating decision. The candidates below are what the session would have amended, offered for the author’s separate ruling.

Candidate amendments (each independently confirmable or refusable)

  1. (header note replacement — the anchored-guide provenance) Replace the v0.2 header’s “advisory-internal until E2 passes” note with: “The grader codes WITH the severity guide that passed E2 (hash-pinned to the passing version). Its outputs remain advisory-internal and feed no S3-denominated instrument (placebo margins, drain §4 nulls, any death-condition). Provenance of the pass travels here: 94% on a gold set whose numeric floors were sealed under the standing delegation (author-to-ratify outstanding — studies/placebo-control/outputs/VALIDATION_RESULT_S4H.md §3), scored by a post-verdict scorer, n=1 of a kind (L-013). The grader’s catch-DETECTION layer is unanchored (blue round: 1% pairwise vs the 50% floor; candidate L-016) and, for a single held-out instance, unmeasurable in-house. No grader output may carry the word ‘anchored.’ Lift is two-key: the detection repair (studies/study-C-ablation/DETECTION_REPAIR_REQUIREMENTS_S4I.md) passes its pre-registered floor AND the author confirms.”
  2. (trigger-list addition) Reader-facing playtest-program copy diffs enter the trigger list explicitly (the D-007 reader-facing trigger already covers them; this names the program).
  3. (escalation terminus under delegation) During any standing delegation, escalation-grade items queue at the top of the author’s return docket (the delegated chair may accept or rebut but never terminate an escalation). Recorded as the panel’s answer to Nietzsche’s struck suspension tooth — his dissent travels: “a seated [grader] whose escalations reach an empty chair is a bell wired to a room where no one sleeps — if you seat it under delegation, wire it to suspend, or admit you wanted the bell for its shine.”
  4. (self-installation exclusion, standing) The instrument never grades its own seating/authorization record: no instrument adjudicates its own installation; that review is the author’s alone.
  5. (citable-status vocabulary) Until the author seats the grader, the only citable status for its outputs is “shadow-reviewed, author confirmation outstanding”; the phrase-family “restored a check / the upstream check now operates / the corpus is now reviewed” is barred (D-007 class — procedure cited as truth about the project’s own governance); C-027/C-032 may be cited as motive for the shadow-run, never as discharged obligation.

What the author decides (three separable rulings)

  1. Seat or hold the grader (the v0.2 footer’s reserved act) — the shadow log’s contents are void-or-confirmed wholesale by this ruling.
  2. Confirm or refuse each candidate amendment above (any confirmed subset becomes v0.3).
  3. Rule on the shadow-run’s escalation-grade items (queued at the top of the return docket in GRADER_SHADOW_LOG_S4I.md).
