License
This project uses a dual license, matching its two kinds of content.
- Documents, theories, and all prose (everything in
docs/,panel/,outputs/,logs/, and the Markdown files at the root): licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). - Code (any scripts, models, simulations, or web/
viz/source): licensed under the MIT License.
The pairing is deliberate. Share-alike on the ideas keeps the commons a commons — anyone may build on the theories, but their improvements stay open under the same terms, so the shared body of thought cannot be enclosed. MIT on the code keeps the tooling maximally reusable, so models and visualizations can travel into other projects with minimal friction.

On the panelists
The panel members are reconstructions of real thinkers’ published positions, framed as intellectual positions rather than the actual persons. Nothing in this project is endorsed by any named thinker, living or dead, or their estates. Where a living figure’s real-world view is discussed, it is cited to its source; invented attributions are prohibited (see CONTRIBUTING.md and Ground Rule 16). The license covers this project’s own text and code, not the underlying works of the thinkers it reconstructs, which remain under their own rights.
On third-party components
The dual license above covers this project’s own first-party content. The reading site is built and served with third-party components under their own permissive/open licenses, credited in the site’s colophon: Eleventy (MIT), Mermaid (MIT), markdown-it (MIT), the GoatCounter analytics script, and the Newsreader and IBM Plex Mono fonts (SIL Open Font License). These remain under their respective licenses, not this project’s.
