A Systems Theory for Today

A living, forkable attempt to build a systems theory adequate to the present — by designed disagreement.

Reading note: this is the project's working research log — every unsettled question and standing disagreement, kept in the project's own shorthand. It is the most revealing page here and the least translated; the Summary is the plain-language door.

OPEN QUESTIONS & LIVE DISAGREEMENTS

Version: 0.4 · Status: Living · Last updated: Session 4k (external-vantage concession: Q-012 closed-for-this-build and Q-016 answered-by-concession under the S4k ruling; D-007’s C-028 first-bite removed — bite count now 0, the governor legibly dormant. Earlier, S4h: D-007 installed and Q-001’s admission confirmed as a split, panel-delegated, provisional-pending-author.)

A standing record of what the project has not settled — every genuine open question and every live disagreement, logged as it surfaces. The author asked for this explicitly, and the reason is sound: in a project built on designed disagreement, the unresolved questions and the standing splits are the most revealing part of the record. They are where the real thinking is, they are what a contributor should attack first, and they are the honesty check against the chair’s drift toward premature closure (L-001). Nothing here should be quietly resolved by a later session’s tidy-up; a question leaves this log only when it is genuinely answered, and the answer is recorded with its date and its dissent.

Two registers. Open Questions (Q) — things we don’t yet know and could, in principle, come to know (empirical, methodological, or design questions with a possible answer). Live Disagreements (D) — standing splits where reasonable panelists hold opposed positions on grounds unlikely to be settled by evidence alone; several are designed to stay open as governors.

Status values: open (unanswered, answerable) · standing (a governor — kept deliberately unresolved) · tracked (parked, to revisit) · answered (with date + how).

OPEN QUESTIONS

Q-001 — Is Theory A falsifiable, and how do we operationalize “the gap”?

Theory A (the Adaptation Gap) claims pathologies flow from the rate of systemic change outrunning adaptive capacity. But a gap between two rates is only a theory if both rates can be measured. Can we define rate-of-systemic-change and rate-of-institutional/cognitive-adaptation as indices from real data, such that the gap is computable and its correlation with the pressure-test symptoms is testable? Until we can, Theory A risks being an elegant restatement of “things are changing fast,” which explains nothing (Turchin’s bar; Goal S2). This is the single highest-value Phase-1 task. Raised: S1 R7, restated S2. Status: open — the flagship task; a full operationalization design now exists in draft (outputs/THEORY_A_OPERATIONALIZED.md, S3): two rate-indices with candidate proxies, a normalization discipline, a cross-sectional + longitudinal prediction, crisp falsification conditions, the discriminator against Turchin’s wealth pump, and a pre-registered first study. The design is specified but not yet run/tested, so Q-001 stays open — the bar is a tested claim, not a stated one. This is also the concrete trigger for heavy Code (data pipelines). Advanced (S4g, panel-ratified admission; provisional-pending-author): a full designed-disagreement deliberation on the commensurability core (run as the placebo’s real arm, studies/placebo-control/arms/ARM_R_TRANSCRIPT.md; unsealed after scoring) reached a majority position — R_c and R_a are not naturally commensurable, but commensurability can be constructed and tested rather than assumed — under four amendments: matched-pair time-ratios as the preferred primitive; the family of domain gaps as the primary object (scalar G a declared summary); pre-registered robustness tripwires + convergent/discriminant validation before outcomes, with a corruption clause; and ordinal-unless-earned interpretation. The “manufactured commensurability” charge is thereby converted into one of Theory A’s own falsifiers. Dissent preserved verbatim: Heidegger (full no), Michell (unproved quantitativity — summoned, non-voting), Nietzsche (partial — commensuration is valuation; sign the scale), Le Guin (the scalar’s gravity). Panel-confirmed as a split (S4h, panel-delegated, provisional-pending-author; panel/SESSION_S4H_RATIFICATION.md A3; the word “ratified” corrected S4i per the shadow-grade pass — Rule 11 reserves ratification to the author, the C-028 class): the four amendments’ methodological content is panel-confirmed unconditionally (the author’s ratification outstanding), with a fifth binding element (Nietzsche): any constructed commensurability index — scalar G or the gap-family weights — carries a signed valuation note (who set the weights, what value the weighting serves, who bears the cost if wrong) as a first-class field. The fact-of-majority is ratified at hypothesis grade only, under two mandatory clauses: (provenance) this deliberation ran as the placebo’s R arm, unsealed after scoring — a fact any citing document names, and which also governs the E4 validation blind; (reversion contingency, Campbell) if the pre-registered C-025 discriminator — the repaired convergence measure — later supports the apparatus-bug reading (closure-shape manufactured independent of content), the fact-of-majority reverts from panel-finding to hypothesis-to-retest; the four amendments stand on their own content either way. May NOT be claimed: surviving the pre-registered tripwires as “commensurability established” — the tripwires only falsify; the first text citing survival as establishment takes a Rung-0 flag. Lives in: outputs/THEORY_A_OPERATIONALIZED.md, outputs/CANDIDATE_THEORIES.md (A), outputs/COMPREHENSIVE_PLAN.md (Phase 1), DIAGRAMS.md §9.

Q-002 — Is the coherence vacuum (M) the base or the summit?

Is the loss of shared meaning the quiet ground beneath the machinery (material drivers produce it), or the loudest fact of which everything else is an echo (it produces the rest)? The Session-2 layering placed drivers “below” and meaning at “Layer 0,” which a layout can make look like an answer — but it is precisely the Round-5 split, unresolved. We have deliberately drawn M as coupled to all layers without asserted primacy. Raised: S1 R5, sharpened S2 R3. Status: standing (kept open by design; see D-001). Lives in: panel/SESSION_2_PRESSURE_TESTS.md R3, DIAGRAMS.md §4.

Q-003 — What is the unit of adaptation?

Theory A needs to say what is failing to adapt fast enough. Institutions? Individual cognition? Culture and shared narrative? Law? Probably all of them, at different rates — which means “the gap” may be a family of gaps with different time-constants, not one number. Naming and separating these units is a prerequisite for Q-001. Raised: S2 (implied by R3 layering). Status: open. Lives in: outputs/CANDIDATE_THEORIES.md (A).

Q-004 — How does Theory C avoid the Integral trap?

Theory C proposes a living commons that integrates many perspectives. Integral Theory (Wilber’s AQAL) also integrates all perspectives — and is widely judged unfalsifiable, a taxonomy so accommodating nothing can contradict it (LANDSCAPE_OF_CONTEMPORARY_SYSTEMS_THEORIES.md §7). What structural feature keeps Theory C from becoming the same comprehensive-but-empty map? Candidate answer: C must host falsifiable sub-theories and preserve their defeats, not merely file every view as “partly right.” But this needs to be built into the method, not asserted. Raised: S2 (from landscape survey). Status: open. Lives in: outputs/CANDIDATE_THEORIES.md (C), LANDSCAPE_OF_CONTEMPORARY_SYSTEMS_THEORIES.md §7.

Q-005 — Is bracketing meaning a limit or a virtue?

The project deliberately does not claim to deliver “lived shared meaning” (the standing meaning-governor). Is that honest incompleteness a permanent virtue — the thing that keeps us from becoming Integral Theory or a religion-substitute — or a limit we should eventually try to overcome? The meaning-bloc (D-001) says a systems theory that brackets meaning is not a theory of a human world; the structural bloc says faking the meaning column is exactly how frameworks go soft. Both may be right at once. Raised: S1 R5, sharpened by LANDSCAPE_OF_CONTEMPORARY_SYSTEMS_THEORIES.md §9. Status: standing. Lives in: LANDSCAPE_OF_CONTEMPORARY_SYSTEMS_THEORIES.md §9, GLOSSARY.md (“understanding”).

Q-006 — Where is the line between comprehensive and unfalsifiable?

Session 2 added five pressure-tests; the same instinct, unchecked, could add fifty. Meadows: a model with too many variables predicts nothing. Le Guin: restraint is also a worldview, and parsimony can be a polite name for a blind spot. So: what is the criterion for admitting a variable? Session 2’s working answer — “it must replace a vague symptom with a measurable driver, or be cut” — is a start, but the line is not yet principled. Raised: S2 R2. Status: open. Lives in: panel/SESSION_2_PRESSURE_TESTS.md R2; the disagreement form is D under this same tension.

Q-007 — Is the form genuinely an argument, or a rationalization?

The project claims “the medium is the thesis” — that a living commons demonstrates Theory C. But does building the thing you’re arguing for count as evidence for it, or does it beg the question? A working repository proves the method is possible, not that it is right or that it reaches the whole. We should be able to state what would show the reflexive wager to have failed (e.g., the commons never forms; or it forms but produces only consensus mush, no falsifiable theory). Raised: S1 R6 (Nietzsche: a method is not a meaning). Status: open. Lives in: README.md (reflexive wager), docs/METHOD.md; disagreement form at D-004.

Q-008 — Is AI a driver, or a new master condition that reorders the board?

Session 2 admitted machine intelligence as D4, one driver among four. But a strong case says AI is not a peer variable — it changes what “adaptation” (D1), “coordination” (Y2), and “epistemics” (Y1) mean, and may itself become the fastest-moving thing the gap is measured against. Should D4 be promoted to sit beside M as a second organizing pole? Deferred, but flagged as potentially structure-altering. Raised: S2 R1–R2. Status: tracked (revisit when AI’s role in each layer is mapped). Lives in: panel/SESSION_2_PRESSURE_TESTS.md.

Q-009 — At what stage does the project go to Code — and should it ever?

Two kinds of “Code”: light (a real git repo + static-site build + deploy) and heavy (executable models, data pipelines, computational sense-making). When does each become worth the executor’s cost, and is heavy Code ever warranted, or is the project’s value as a thinking-and-writing artifact? Refined reading (Session 3, author-ratified): the trigger for light Code is capacity, not preference — deliberation is best in Chat, and there is no virtue in leaving early; while Chat holds the working context, stay in Chat. But the context ceiling has been reached (a compaction and run-outs), so stand up Light Code now for durable memory and keep the center of gravity in Chat, running deliberation over the shuttle and drawing registers (§5) instead of the whole archive. Two surfaces: a public reading website now, a private contribution repo until the skeleton is stable, then opened for forking (THE_LIVING_DOCUMENT.md §7). Heavy Code stays gated on Q-001 — whose operationalized claim now exists in draft (outputs/THEORY_A_OPERATIONALIZED.md) but is not yet tested, so the gate is approaching, not passed. The “maybe never” branch stays honest. Raised: S2 (author’s direct question). Status: open (light-Code trigger met; heavy-Code approaching). Lives in: docs/CHAT_CODE_WORKFLOW.md, DIAGRAMS.md §7–§8, outputs/COMPREHENSIVE_PLAN.md.

Q-010 — How thin can the slice be without starving deliberation? → RESOLVED (multi-register)

Resolved (Session 3, author): don’t choose a thickness — hold several registers at once. A session loads the pointer (R0: map + last digest), the frontier (R1: open questions), and a Code-maintained gist of the whole (R3) always; adds its working documents at full resolution (R2); and pulls full deep text (R4) only on demand. The document stays whole in view without any worker holding it whole in context; the thin/thick binary dissolves. Full model in docs/CHAT_CODE_WORKFLOW.md §5; generalized as L-008 (optionality over a forced single choice). Raised: S2. Status: answered (S3). Lives in: docs/CHAT_CODE_WORKFLOW.md §5.

Q-011 — How is a Chat/Code divergence reconciled?

The repo is the shared memory, but Chat’s intended change and Code’s on-disk state can drift (a work-order describes an edit that no longer matches the file; two cycles touch the same document). What is the reconciliation rule when they disagree? The commitment: never silently overwrite one with the other — surface the divergence and resolve it deliberately (the author’s own branching-and-reconciliation discipline, applied to the shuttle). The concrete triggers and resolution procedure remain to be specified. Raised: S2. Status: open. Lives in: docs/CHAT_CODE_WORKFLOW.md §9.

Q-012 — Can Theory C’s reflexive claim be tested without an entangled baseline?

C’s operationalization (outputs/THEORY_C_OPERATIONALIZED.md) measures whether the commons out-catches a lone author — but in the project’s current form the “panel” and the “single author” are the same underlying model in different prompts. So the ablation tests the narrower claim (does a disagreement-structure beat an unstructured process, reasoner held fixed?), not the grand one (does distributed human plurality beat individual genius?). The narrower result is still worth having; the uncontaminated baseline only arrives when the repo opens and real external forks appear (which ties the testing of C to the two-surfaces plan, not just its building). What interim baselines are legitimate, and how much can the ablation honestly claim before then? Raised: S4. Status: open for a future fork; closed FOR THIS BUILD by the S4k concession — no uncontaminated baseline arrives here (the repo opens onto real forkers only later, and by the author’s ruling no foreign vantage runs the ablation in this build). What was measured is the narrower structure-vs-no-structure question, and its one interpretable read is null-compatible (1.15×, p=0.24) with the detection instrument below its reliability floor (L-016). The grand claim is set down as conclusively-untested-in-this-setup, falsifiable in principle by a future fork. Lives in: outputs/THEORY_C_OPERATIONALIZED.md §4, docs/CHAT_CODE_WORKFLOW.md §8, panel/SESSION_S4K_RATIFICATION.md.

Q-013 — Is Theory B’s H3 conditional (“selection beats stated intent iff the change threatens the engagement metric”) correct?

The Study-B cross-check (4 project-blind LLMs) read Case A (a broad engagement re-weighting) as outcome-follows-incentive and Case B (a narrow, engagement-neutral de-optimization) as mixed, converging on a conditional: selection wins where the change conflicts with the core metric, relaxes where it is engagement-neutral. Is that conditional real, or an artifact of two cases on a shared corpus? Raised: S4f (cross-check). Status: open. Lives in: studies/study-B-optimization/outputs/CROSSCHECK_RESULT.md.

Q-014 — What CONSTRUCT (not target) should be pre-registered for the cross-check, and what number would settle “selection beats intent”?

The panel split: pre-register the classifier for “threatens the metric” before grading (Turchin) vs the objection that a pre-registered target is still a target, so pre-register the construct and its validity first (Campbell). Until resolved, H3’s “threat to the metric” risks being read off the very outcome it predicts (circularity). Raised: S4f (reflection). Status: answered (S4g) — resolved (author-ratified) to pre-register the held-out CONSTRUCT + its validity first (planning-panel majority + Campbell), Heidegger’s refusal preserved; a numeric kill-threshold is fixed. Enacted in studies/study-B-optimization/CONSTRUCT_THREAT_TO_METRIC.md — TTM, four ex-ante indicators, a 0.75 / 0.25 band cut, an anti-circularity two-dossier firewall, out-of-sample confirmation. The construct is locked but not yet tested (the confirmatory pool is unsourced — the widening move). Lives in: studies/study-B-optimization/CONSTRUCT_THREAT_TO_METRIC.md, skills/study-discipline/SKILL.md.

Q-015 — Does the selection-not-design claim survive a non-Western / care / quiet-system case pool?

All cross-check cases were large Western, corporate, loud platforms (D-005 applied to the check). Does H3 hold for WeChat, a mutual-aid or care system, or a case where selection pressure and revenue point opposite (the near-control the study lacks)? Raised: S4f (reflection; D-005). Status: open. Lives in: studies/study-B-optimization/APPROACH_B2_DOCUMENTED_CASES.md.

Q-016 — Would a genuinely foreign, blind grader name any outcome the plurality actually changed?

The project’s central reflexive bet (Theory C) is that designed disagreement out-catches a single sharp mind. Run alone, would a lone adversary catch everything the panel caught? Would a foreign (non-LLM, non-Claude) grader find the plurality changed any decision? Until then designed disagreement’s construct validity is ~0 (L-013/L-015). Raised: S4f (reflection). Status: answered by concession (S4k, decision 3) — no, because the foreign grader will not come in this build: the author ruled it out and stands as the terminal ratifier. The plurality’s construct validity therefore remains ~0 here, and every internal “the plurality changed X” is set down as unearned until a future fork supplies the genuinely foreign vantage. Answered questions stay logged, so the count holds. Lives in: logs/REFLECTIONS.md (S4f), panel/SESSION_S4K_RATIFICATION.md.

Q-017 — Does the metabolism need a subtraction / retraction operator?

The learning loop has zero retractions — it only accumulates (C-022). Should it gain a way to retire a theory, un-count a catch, strike a governor that never bit, or track decisions-changed instead of births? The ontological camp objects that operationalizing a governor is how it dies; the rigor camp says “name the number or strike the governor.” Raised: S4f (reflection). Status: answered as a governance decision (S4g); the ontological question stays live as D-003. The author ratified (Fork 2/3/4/6) installing the drain — a decided subtraction operator (retire / retract / downgrade / strike) with an append-only decisions-changed log, an Ostrom-inspired severity-ordered ladder (not a clock), a pre-written Theory-C death-condition (retire on a null, Turchin — armed, not firing: it needs a genuine appropriator, not an LLM-only null), and a first strike held (the never-bit audit found no clean over-claim candidate — awaits the author naming one; Fork 4). Enacted in logs/DECISIONS_CHANGED.md (seeded with three prior Move-1 subtractions, DC-001…003; the operator itself has fired zero times), distilled into the updated L-014 (no new learning-ID minted — the drain’s own principle) and a proposed Ground Rule 24. What is answered is only the governance choice (should the operator exist as a matter of how we run); whether the operator should exist at all — Heidegger’s charge that installing it is the enframing (D-003) — is not answered and cannot be by a ratification vote; the operator is barred (by a standing, self-enforced rule) from ever striking that objection (logs/DECISIONS_CHANGED.md §5, §7). Lives in: logs/DECISIONS_CHANGED.md, logs/REFLECTIONS.md (S4f), docs/METRICS.md, docs/GROUND_RULES.md (R24).

LIVE DISAGREEMENTS

D-001 — Structural understanding vs meaning-first understanding

The split: Is understanding the grasp of structure and mechanism (with meaning a separate, later project) — or does an understanding that brackets meaning fail to be understanding of a human world at all? Sides: Structural bloc — Aristotle, Kant, Meadows, Turchin, Luhmann (build the mechanism; meaning is a different question). Meaning bloc — Nietzsche, Heidegger, Le Guin, Arendt (a theory that explains everything and means nothing has explained nothing that matters). Why it’s revealing: it is the project’s deepest fault line; it decides what “success” even means and shadows every later choice (including how diagrams are drawn — see Q-002). Status: standing. Origin: S1 R5.

D-002 — A single master condition vs an irreducibly coupled field

The split: Is there one upstream cause (the adaptation gap? the death of shared value?) from which the rest flow — or is the condition an irreducible field of mutually-causing factors with no root to find? Sides: Single-root — the plurality that endorsed Theory A as “most upstream”; Nietzsche (one wound: the death of values). No-root — Turchin and Marx (a master condition trades testability for a satisfying story; it is a coupled system, not a root). Why it’s revealing: it determines whether the project seeks the mechanism or a map of couplings; it is why the deliverable is three rival theories, not one. Status: standing. Origin: S1 R3, reaffirmed S2 R3.

D-003 — Is a better system the cure or the disease? (the Heidegger governor)

The split: Is building a more adequate systems theory the way through the crisis — or is the very impulse to grasp everything as an optimizable system the fullest expression of the crisis itself? Sides: The project’s premise (a better joining helps) vs Heidegger (the enframing thinking that treats world-as-system is what must be questioned, not perfected), with Le Guin partly aligned (the control-impulse is the problem). Why it’s revealing: it is the objection that, if right, invalidates the whole enterprise — which is exactly why it is seated permanently and re-raised whenever the project congratulates itself (C-002). Status: standing (governor — never to be resolved, only kept live). Origin: S1 R1/R6.

D-004 — Theory C: a genuine third path, or a dodge of the meaning-question?

The split: Does a living, plural, procedural commons genuinely offer a way to “think the whole” that the monograph could not — or is it a sophisticated evasion, substituting process for the meaning the old totalities supplied? Sides: The reflexive wager (a procedural totality is the honest post-monograph form) vs Nietzsche and Heidegger (a method is not a meaning; a well-run process that means nothing is still nihilism, better organized). Why it’s revealing: it is the test of the project’s central hope; Q-007 is its answerable sub-question (what would count as the wager failing?). Status: standing. Origin: S1 R6.

D-005 — Whose crises are on the list?

The split: Is the pressure-test list a reasonable selection of the age’s defining problems — or does the selection (and the omissions) encode the list-makers’ standpoint, leaving out what they don’t feel (care work, the global South’s crises, the non-human, the slow and unspectacular)? Sides: The working list (these are defensible, high-salience systemic problems) vs Le Guin (a list of crises is already a worldview; parsimony can be a blind spot with good manners — D and Q-006 are the same tension seen from two sides). Why it’s revealing: it keeps the project honest about its own vantage — the very thing its founding premise says no single standpoint can transcend. The correction is not to pretend to a view from nowhere but to name the vantage and invite its correction (CONTRIBUTING.md). Status: standing. Origin: S2 R1–R2.

D-006 — Is the adaptation gap a pathology or a feature? (the accelerationist objection)

The split: Theory A treats the gap between change and adaptation as the thing to close. Accelerationists and techno-optimists hold the opposite: acceleration is the engine of progress, and the answer is to speed adaptation up (build faster institutions, augment cognition) or to let the old forms break — not to slow the change. Sides: Theory A (the gap is the pathology; many symptoms are downstream of it) vs the accelerationist position (the gap is a transitional feature; resisting acceleration is the real error). Why it’s revealing: it is the strongest external rival to our flagship theory, and taking it seriously is what separates Theory A from a reactionary lament about “things moving too fast.” Status: open/standing (a genuine rivalry to adjudicate, not just preserve). Origin: LANDSCAPE_OF_CONTEMPORARY_SYSTEMS_THEORIES.md §8.

D-007 — Authority theater, reader-facing (does form persuade where content has not?)

The split: When the project’s visible rigor apparatus — pre-registrations, sealed margins, hashes, preserved dissents, provisional stamps, agreement-strength labels — meets a reader, does its form inform the reader’s trust or manufacture it? Is a procedure-marked page evidence of discipline, or a persuasion surface that substitutes for the reader’s own check? Sides: Form-as-scaffold (Campbell, Turchin, Ostrom, Meadows) — form-marks are legitimate exactly insofar as each is traceable to an enforcement instrument that has bitten; every rigor-claim must link to the instrument, margin, and raw verdict that could break it; the cure is converting readers into appropriators who monitor us. Form-as-vestment (Le Guin, Heidegger) — the register itself recruits belief regardless of traceability; no audit trail cures a rhetoric; and the theater includes the house voice itself — prose whose form says “you are not qualified to doubt this” persuades by intimidation, and it intimidates the quiet reader first (Le Guin’s register clause). Why it’s revealing: it is C-006’s outward-facing twin, and it decides what the 2026-10-01 opening is — an audience acquired, or a monitoring community constituted. Arming evidence: C-025 — the protocol’s form saturated the project’s own sealed instrument at 5/5 on a hollow arm, cited for exactly what it showed and no more (the sentence “a reader is a softer instrument than a sealed rubric” is tagged an untested hypothesis, not evidence — the governor polices that move too). First bite: C-028 (the “Ratified” header near-miss, caught pre-enactment, S4h). S4k reclassification (residue, author-authorized — SG-04 OBJ-2): C-028 is REMOVED as D-007’s first bite, and D-007’s bite count is now 0. C-028 was a Rule-11 definitional near-miss (a header wording), same-session and self-certified; booking it as the governor’s first bite is adjacent to the manufactured-bite move D-007 itself forbids — and, under the S4k bite-event definition (studies/study-C-ablation/BITE_EVENT_DEFINITION_S4K.md), a self-certified same-session wording fix does not meet the (c) “changed because the guard applied, committed and pointing back” test cleanly enough to count. D-007 is now legibly dormant, not inert (no reader-facing authority-theater artifact has yet triggered it; its trigger has had few matchable artifacts), so it is not a strike candidate. Honest dormancy replaces a self-awarded win. Teeth (a codable catch category — and the internal split about the teeth, preserved unresolved): any reader-facing project text citing the apparatus’s procedural form as evidence of a claim’s truth — rather than as the location of its check — takes a Rung-0 flag on sight; the repo opening ships a HOW_TO_CHECK_US map (every headline claim → the instrument and raw verdict that would break it; docs/REPO_OPEN_CHECKLIST.md); the governor is re-read at every pre-open review. Against the teeth, inside this governor’s own text (Heidegger’s binding constraints, enacted): any detector or disclosure built under D-007 carries on its face that it is itself reader-facing form; booking the theater-charge as a governor may be the theater digesting the charge; the governor is a standing disagreement, never a checklist — the moment its catch-count is read as its health, it has died in the way it warns about. A watched instance, named at installation (the sentinel): the session-wide panel-delegated stamps themselves — a provisional stamp repeated across a whole session can read to an outsider as the author’s oversight performed in his absence. (The pre-open “due bite” quota proposed at installation was struck: a governor may go unbit honestly; demanding a bite by a date manufactures one — the Campbell gaming mode. Nietzsche’s dissent travels: this may be the governor most likely to be pointed at rather than fired.) Status: standing (governor — kept deliberately unresolved). Origin: S4h, from the S4g learning panel (panel/LEARNING_FROM_PARALLEL_S4g.md adoption 3), installed under the standing delegation (panel-delegated, provisional-pending-author; panel/SESSION_S4H_RATIFICATION.md B3).

How this log is used

  • Contributors start here. The fastest way to add value is to attack an open Q (especially Q-001) or to take a side in a D with new argument or evidence (CONTRIBUTING.md).
  • The chair is audited here. If a later session’s synthesis appears to have “resolved” a standing item, that is a catch — check whether the resolution is real or the L-001 drift recurring.
  • Answers are earned, and dated. When a Q moves to answered, the entry keeps its history: the question, the answer, the date, and any preserved dissent. We do not delete the question; we record that it was met.
