Provenance
This is the public reading surface of A Systems Theory for Today, a research program run as designed disagreement: a standing panel of reconstructed thinkers argues; Claude (Anthropic) chairs — preparing the ground, synthesizing the argument, and never casting a vote; Hulki Okan Tabak is the author, who directs the program and ratifies its outputs. Nothing is load-bearing until the author ratifies it, and no genuinely-argued position is ever silently erased. The private workshop repository holds every panel session, catch, dissent, and decision that led here.
The website renders the repository's own Markdown in place — the repository is the site's source. It is built with Eleventy and deployed to GitHub Pages; the reading site is public, and at Session 4k the author opened the contribution repository to the public too. In the same session the author ruled this public reading site to be the project's artifact — the deliverable of record, not a claim that the theory is settled — with the private repository as the maintainer's workshop behind it; the repository's own README now lives as a maintainer page at /readme/.
Privacy & analytics
There are no accounts, no cookies, and no tracking. The only analytics is GoatCounter, a privacy-respecting counter that records an anonymous page view — no personal data, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking — and is simply absent when you are offline or on localhost. A strict Content-Security-Policy names the handful of hosts this site may talk to (its own origin, Google Fonts, the Mermaid diagram library, and the counter) and forbids everything else; the counter's script is pinned to a published version by cryptographic hash, so even that host cannot serve this page altered code. IP addresses are used only transiently to count a visit and are not stored.
Design
Typeset in Newsreader (a screen-first serif) with IBM Plex Mono for labels and metadata, on a deep indigo field by night and a warm cream field by day — either way with a single amber accent and a cyan second for what is contested. The nine figures are the project's signature: eight authored in Mermaid (which live as editable text in the repository and render on GitHub) and one hand-authored SVG; every figure is downloadable as vector (SVG) or raster (PNG). The home-screen icon is the project's own signed causal loop. If a coupling can't be drawn, we probably don't understand it yet.
How it keeps itself honest
Empirical claims are grounded in sources; the panel's own inferences and guesses are labelled as such; overturned claims are marked overturned rather than deleted. The unsettled questions and standing disagreements are a first-class part of the document — kept, curated, and pointed to as the frontier. The project runs a metabolism that turns error into rule change (catches → learnings → amended ground rules) and keeps an honest retrospective on whether the method is actually working. Documents (the prose, the theories, the surveys) are licensed CC BY-SA 4.0 — share and adapt, with attribution, under the same terms. Any code is MIT. It is meant to be forked, contradicted, and extended once the repository opens.
