Built to its PDF register 19 July 2026. The presentation slot was closed as not-owed by the author, 24 July 2026, under A8 (registers are budgeted, not defaulted): eighteen refusals are textual arguments — relations between two texts — and cannot survive as captionless image cards (C-19); no advisor produced a form that carries an argument without explaining it. The budget is revised deliberately, not by drift. The project's only Type II inversion, and it survived on Cortazar's objection that an inventory is not a dimension. Its six candidate rows arrived from admitted commentary and NONE of them was used as evidence — every row was rebuilt from the 1922 text under learning L-13, because a refusal claimed from commentary is not a refusal shown.

The claim
Ulysses does not secularise the Odyssey by deletion. Across eighteen refusals verified against the 1922 text, not one Homeric element is simply removed: every refusal keeps the Homeric occasion on the page and reassigns the power that made it work — downward into a person who has none, or outward into something that is not a person at all.

What it shows
The divine is never subtracted from Ulysses; it is relocated, and it lands either below the human or beyond it, never at the human scale where Homer keeps it — Athena demoted to a crone taking a coin, the shades' speech handed to a gramophone, Zeus's bolt handed to the weather and glossed by an ad-canvasser. And the refusal is repeatedly transacted: the Homeric obligation is not performed but discharged — settled, priced, itemised, paid off — illustrated at both terminal positions of the book and at the position of the slaughter of the suitors, which the book grades as a schedule of remedies and ranks hushmoney above assassination. Where Homer settles with an act, Ulysses settles with an account. Its formula for refusing Homer is Bloom's, in episode 15, laying a half sovereign on the table in the brothel and taking up the poundnote: Three times ten. We’re square. And the settlement does not hold — four lines later he gives the money back, This is yours, so the book's clearest squaring of an account is undone almost as soon as it is made. Shown 28 July 2026 (catch C-98): until then this dimension characterised that passage and showed it nowhere, which anchor A19 forbids — found by joint session 09 and verified against the held 1922 text before it was corrected. Demoted 4 August 2026: the former 'nine of the eighteen' count is struck in the artifact and demoted from a count to an illustration — the 'transacted' category and the formula it was built to find first appear in the same commit (aee0bdb, 2026-07-19T22:05:09+03), so the record cannot establish that the coding rule predates the formula (L-34, fail closed). The coding sheet is published in the artifact at id="transacted-coding"; the pre-registered Book 22 test row (docs/dim9-book22-preregistration.md) is published at id="book22" — verdict PRESENT-RELOCATED, Atwood's shape: twenty verified hanging occasions, every hanged body male, and no woman, servant, or slave hanged anywhere in the held 1922 text.

Kept as a rejection record, not as a list: the binding-rule box (concordance.print.html) — "Six candidate refusals came to this project from commentary generated by another model... none of them counted"; data/dimensions.json repeats it ("NONE of them was used as evidence — every row was rebuilt from the 1922 text under learning L-13"). No enumeration of the six candidates is kept anywhere I found in the repo; the commentary itself is held source-only in library/ (Kimi files, library/README.md). Also shown rather than removed: the empty refusal category — zero rows for "the event does not happen" — drawn dashed on the chart (concordance.print.html (the chart figure's desc, table and closing paragraph)).
What kind of thing it claims
An ATTACKABLE CLAIM — under joint session 09's discriminating test (an inventory can only be attacked at its inclusion rule; a reading at its claim): Its claim field (this record's own claim field) is a universal negative over a closed set — "not one Homeric element is simply removed" across all eighteen — and one clean deletion anywhere kills it (Ginzburg, docs/panel-session-09.md). Session 09's finding names dim 9 "the one dimension that makes an attackable claim rather than reporting a distribution" (same file), and records it attacked at the claim six times with counter-evidence from the source (same file).

Dimension 16, Four Odysseys — declared: "its analytic frame comes from dimension 16, Four Odysseys: refusing plot and refusing register are different acts" (concordance.print.html (the footer's analytic-frame declaration); data/dimensions.json, 201); session 09 states "Dimension 16 is already the declared parent of dimension 9's frame" (docs/panel-session-09.md).

Eighteen of eighteen rows were CORRECTED; none passed clean and none failed. The pattern was uniform and is published in the document's own words: the quotation held in every case, the prose around it did not. False adjacency was the commonest defect — seven rows claimed two things happen close together when they do not, one of them across 2,380 words, and one 'twenty-eight lines later' that turned out to be an artifact of where the Gutenberg plaintext wraps rather than a fact about Joyce. The most important limitation is structural. One of the five refusal types — the event that simply does not happen — has zero rows, because an absence cannot be grepped and this dimension admits nothing it cannot quote. That empty category is a finding about the method before it is a finding about the book, it is drawn on the chart rather than removed from it, and any reader should discount the distribution accordingly. Two further negatives, stated because each would have been a strong result had it gone the other way: no episode declines to refuse, so the dimension cannot claim there is one place where Joyce keeps faith with Homer; and the Homeric column is a summary, not scholarship — this was built against the 1922 text, which the project holds, and not against a Greek text or any particular translation. Where a row depends on a fine point of the Odyssey rather than a broad one it is marked thin. A3 states are carried per row, which matters here because several Homeric-looking events in episode 15 occur only inside a hallucination.
