Sow a seed

Plant a seed. It names the exact day it will open — a day away, a week, a season — and nothing you do can hurry it.

Hold a seed and let go — or press once to take it and once to let go. A longer hold sows a taller plant. There is no skill in it. What grows cannot be helped, hurried, or harmed. It will tell you exactly when it opens; the bloom is brief, and if you are away while it is open, the record will say so.

The garden

Nothing is sown here. A garden lives only in the browser that sowed it — and some browsers forget it after a week or two away. If you sowed one here and kept its seed line, or a saved copy of the garden, opening that brings the plant back, still keeping its appointments.

Sow one for someone

A seed can be sown for someone. It goes as a link; no name goes with it, and nothing comes back. Hold a seed here to sow one for sending.

POTHOS is a garden of appointments and needs JavaScript to keep them. Nothing you do in it is recorded anywhere but your own browser.

The idea, in words: you sow a seed with a small gesture, and the garden tells you exactly when it will open — tomorrow, in a week, in a season. Nothing you do can hurry it. It does not need watering and cannot be harmed; it grows whether you watch or not. The bloom is brief. If you are there while it is open, that is witnessed; if not, it opened while you were away, and the record says so plainly. You can look ahead at a drawing of what will come, and you can sow a seed for someone else and send it as a link. The About page carries the whole of it.
