Preservation archive

Async Art — living works: the 342 Async Art works by Hulki Okan Tabak, Athena Novo and Mad Monk, shown live — every state side by side, the state for the current time, and the layers each is built from.

This is a preservation archive. The works shown with a saved file had their files on a host that has since died, or on a centralized server, or on an IPFS address that no node provided when checked twice through IPFS routing on 2026-09-22, and that OpenSea's IPFS gateway no longer served. A copy of what could still be retrieved was saved and pinned at Pinata; each saved file is given with its content identifier (CID) and links to three public IPFS gateways, in the order to try them, together with where it came from and when, its length in bytes and its sha256. Each file is stored on IPFS under its CID. The CID belongs to the file, not to any website, so other IPFS gateways can open it too. Three that served our files on 2026-10-17: gateway.pinata.cloud, ipfs.filebase.io, c-ipfs-gw.nmkr.io. To check a saved file, download it by its CID from an IPFS gateway and compare its length and sha256 with the ones given here (they are also in archive_index.json). Works whose files are on IPFS and pinned, or fully on-chain, need no saved file; each collection page lists the held ones on IPFS in a table under the cards, and the works stored on Arweave with our own IPFS copy as a second source. Artists are credited as named in the works' own metadata. Nothing here is offered for sale or as a substitute for the original token.

Each work has one or more saved files: the image or video, and the metadata record.

158 works · 317 files saved · 37 collections · machine-readable archive_index.json

Per collection: the works with a saved file, the files saved, and how the works' originals were hosted (number of works).

Working copies of works that load outside files

These works are web pages that load files from other servers (code libraries, music, images). Each one has its own page here with our preservation copy, served from this site: the artist's file is unchanged, except that its outside files now load from the copy.
