Landscape edition, for screen and for the web. The diagrams are set upright and full width; a portrait edition, with the diagrams redrawn for that page, is issued alongside it.

THE TWO EDITIONS DO NOT SHOW THE SAME FACTS. Their figure sets were drawn separately, and differ in what they measure as well as in how they are set. Where they differ, the story is the authority — neither edition is a copy of the other, and neither corrects it.

Every figure is drawn from the text of the story it names. Quotations are the book’s own. Where the book holds a question open, this companion holds it open. The Esperanto page is not translated here, in accordance with the ruling that governs it. American spelling throughout, as in the collection.

This companion issues no names. Not one person in the collection has one.
