Forum integrity note

The named experts and advisors used below are simulated intellectual standpoints. They did not participate, review the project, endorse it, or speak these words. Their names identify traditions of criticism that the project has tried to apply to itself. This method can expose assumptions and generate objections. It cannot supply independent knowledge, lived experience, consent, legitimacy, or evidence.

Executive judgment

Uncommon Reality did not fail because it was unserious. It failed, where it failed, because seriousness was invested in the wrong sequence.

The project built an unusually elaborate architecture: a memorable thesis, provisional theory hierarchy, typed claims and evidence, cases, rivals, ethical limits, registries, immutable editions, narration, simulated forums, tests, release gates, and a proposed clean-history continuation corpus. Much of it is careful, and later security work found defects a lighter process might have missed.

But the architecture matured much faster than the inquiry it was meant to serve. At the proposed stopping point there are still zero completed prospective discriminating tests, zero verified real external, domain, methods, affected-party, or accessibility reviews, an outcome-protected T001 that remains only an incomplete design stub, three legacy cases that remain thin, an absent carbon-dioxide-sector boundary case for C7, incomplete source pinpoints and freshness work, and no evidence that Repair-Lag explains a bounded outcome better than serious rivals. Process quality has increased. Theory validation has not.

The core error was allowing correction machinery to become a substitute object of achievement. We became very good at recording why source counts were not proof, simulated consensus was not review, a dashboard was not evidence, and narration was not accessibility. Those distinctions matter. Repeating them did not produce the missing comparison, participant, citation pinpoint, assistive-technology session, or prospective result.

The project overengineered its public form relative to its research maturity. It produced many versions, routes, reports, artifacts, and governance records before establishing an empirical result that could change the theory's standing. Technical release confidence sometimes sounded adjacent to intellectual confidence, while scarce attention went to reconciling earlier reconciliations.

The strongest surviving contribution may be modest: a public essay and inspectable method for asking whether a specified pressure outruns a legitimate repair process under a declared criterion, with attention to time, power, distribution, rivals, and revision. It may become a useful middle-range framework, a disciplined metaphor, or add little beyond domain-specific explanation.

The responsible ending is therefore a hiatus, not a victory declaration and not a theatrical confession of total failure. The author-led phase can stop because the problem, attempted framework, ethical boundaries, evidence gaps, failures, and continuation conditions have been made inspectable within the available resources. The research cannot be called complete. The theory cannot be called validated. A public successor, if every remaining release and disclosure gate closes, should make continuation possible without pretending that continuation begins from settled knowledge.

How this edition classifies the record

This edition avoids treating every historical defect as a current defect. It uses five dispositions:

Candidate status matters. The v2.0.0 records describe a proposed state of author-completed / research-open / independently continuable / not validated. Until the exact release gates close, that remains a proposal rather than a released fact. The existing operating repository remains private. The proposed public successor is a separate, clean-history corpus and must remain private until its complete tree, history, settings, and artifacts have been audited and the owner separately authorizes visibility. Its anonymous browse, clone, archive, release-download, and fork surface must then be verified after the visibility change.

What changed after the first failure analysis

The first What We Did Wrong report was based on the v1.8.2 record. Several of its strongest operational criticisms were subsequently repaired.

v1.9 published the Forum report/narration families, lifecycle controls, reader path, diagrams, and T001 infrastructure without calling it a test. v1.9.1 verified current and live state, performed a bounded desktop check, corrected false status wording, prepared T001 and real-review packets, and preserved the open accessibility gates. v1.9.2 added site-wide Print / Save PDF, Share and Permalink controls, print presentation, social metadata, and narration routes, then verified deployed wiring and immutable PDF checksums.

The v2.0.0 candidate proposes a stopping statement, continuation guidance, identity assets, analytics removal, fork-safe canonical metadata, a clean export, licensing and provenance, and strict disclosure gates. Its Learning Pass records genuine catches: a sealed-repository reference, stale analytics and operational data, image metadata, mutable workflow references, unsafe canonicalization, a self-referential commit design, a false exported-build claim, permissive CSP checks, and PNG parser false greens. These are real publication-safety repairs.

The research position, however, is substantially unchanged. No prospective test has been completed. No real external review has occurred. No affected party has acquired standing in the project's decisions. No PDF has become tagged merely because a narration companion exists. No screen-reader result has appeared. No political-economy rival has been beaten by a predeclared comparison. The later releases made the project easier and safer to encounter; they did not validate the theory.

I. Intellectual and philosophical failures

1. The memorable thesis still outruns what has been demonstrated

The sentence that modern societies destabilize the conditions they depend on faster than they repair them remains powerful because it compresses many anxieties into one image. It is also the project's greatest source of false confidence. The sentence sounds like a finding about modern societies in general. The evidence supports, at most, a research question that may be asked of bounded episodes.

The repair was real: later decisions demoted the sentence from a universal law to an entry point and required a specified valued condition, pressure, repair process, capacity, lag type, time horizon, power map, rival, test, threshold, and revision consequence. But most applications still do not contain those fields in an empirically usable form. The public qualification is less memorable than the claim it qualifies.

The Darwin standpoint exposes retrospective selection. Wiener and Meadows expose that feedback, delay, and repair are named more often than measured. Braudel exposes that event, institutional, infrastructural, and biological recovery times are not interchangeable. The headline arrived before its discriminating work.

2. "Repair" was never a neutral analytic term

The project increasingly acknowledges that repair cannot mean restoration of an unjust past and that a measurable threshold does not confer legitimacy. Yet the framework still begins by identifying a valued condition and an adequacy criterion. Who names the value? Who defines the baseline? Who is counted as harmed? Who may refuse the proposed repair? Who pays? Who benefits from delay? Who decides whether transformation is better than maintenance?

The Arendt standpoint challenges the reduction of public judgment to a system input. The Ostrom standpoint asks where actual rule-making communities and institutional co-design are. The Kant standpoint insists that people cannot become variables in an optimization problem, especially in fertility, care, migration, belief, or security contexts. The Heidegger standpoint goes deeper: the vocabulary of substrates, capacities, signals, and repair may itself turn worlds and persons into resources awaiting management.

Ethical guardrails were strengthened, especially around reproductive agency, anti-coercion, defensive synthetic-media work, rights, refusal, and pluralism. Those are repaired design boundaries. They are not legitimacy. No affected community helped define a criterion in the inspected record. "Criterion governance" therefore remains a requirement, not an accomplishment.

3. Power was acknowledged but not allowed to reorganize the theory

The project names political economy as a serious rival and forbids a strategic-lag classification without actor-level evidence. That is better than calling every failure a coordination problem. Still, ownership, class power, organized obstruction, extraction, coercion, and successful rent protection often enter the framework as variables inside a pre-existing Repair-Lag boundary.

Marx and Foucault ask whether "lag" civilizes domination into administrative delay. An institution may be producing the outcome its powerful participants prefer. Ibn Khaldun asks whether solidarity, elite formation, capacity, and legitimacy explain the episode without a new theory; Wallerstein asks whether the unit hides displaced costs.

No case has yet been designed from the strongest political-economy explanation first and then used to test whether Repair-Lag adds a distinct prediction. Until that happens, the framework must not claim that it has integrated power merely because its schema contains a field named power.

4. Cross-domain portability may be false commensurability

Ecology, care, attention, trust, meaning, public verification, and future confidence are all conditions on which social life may depend. It does not follow that they share one causal structure. "Substrate" can illuminate neglected maintenance, but it can also flatten biophysical stocks, social relations, institutions, experiences, and moral worlds into a common engineering metaphor.

Haraway and Le Guin expose how situated knowledge, gendered labor, alternative arrangements, and lived difference disappear inside portable vocabulary. Luhmann questions one translatable schema; Dostoevsky and Nietzsche restore humiliation, resentment, desire, status, and irrational freedom.

The project has not operationalized the same mechanism with valid domain-specific measures across several domains. The honest current disposition is that cross-domain language expresses a family resemblance and research wager. It is not evidence of one mechanism.

5. The historical synthesis remained extractive

The project widened its genealogy beyond a narrow European systems canon. It included Ibn Khaldun, East Asian relational traditions, Buddhist dependent origination, Indigenous and place-based knowledge, feminist care, social reproduction, and situated knowledge, while warning against decorative inclusion. That warning did not solve the problem.

Traditions were compressed into a sequence serving the new synthesis. There was no multilingual source programme, situated history, rights-holder review, or independent historian. Names sometimes became criticism functions - Meadows for leverage, Arendt for plurality, Kant for autonomy - rather than historically specific arguments.

The repair is disclosure: the figures are simulated standpoints, not participants or co-authors. The open failure is intellectual extraction. A future continuation should cite independent histories and narrow its claims rather than adding more names to an already crowded ancestry.

6. Non-applicability was not prominent enough

Repair-Lag is not a high-stakes diagnostic or decision instrument. It should not score governments, rank populations, predict fertility, authorize coercion, determine content moderation, classify dissent, guide policing, allocate services, or identify one legitimate repair for a contested world. It cannot convert a time difference into responsibility, distinguish physical response from institutional failure without domain evidence, or infer strategy without actor evidence.

Some episodes may be explained adequately by ordinary implementation failure, material lock-in, technology availability, fiscal capacity, party competition, preference change, demographic transition, conventional propaganda, or direct political domination. In such cases Repair-Lag may add only vocabulary, or nothing at all. The project should have stated this non-applicability as prominently as its thesis.

II. Evidential and methodological failures

7. We built an evidence machine before producing discriminating evidence

The registries are careful about role and state. Context is separated from support; cases do not promote claims automatically; missing fields remain visible; source counts are not converted into confidence; institutional action is separated from substrate or lived recovery. These are meaningful repairs to epistemic hygiene.

They do not alter the central fact: there is no completed prospective discriminating test. T001 remains design_stub / infrastructure_only / not_inspected. It is not a preregistration, result, evidence edge, or theory confirmation. Several claims still lack an observation period, indicator, threshold, causal share, rival prediction, or revision rule. CS001-CS003 remain underdeveloped; C7 lacks its required carbon-dioxide-sector boundary case.

The Meadows standpoint asks the most uncomfortable leverage question: why did we keep improving the information system around the theory instead of forcing one comparison that could narrow it? The answer is partly practical. Architecture was work we could do with the available tools; external review, longitudinal data, domain measurement, and affected-party participation required resources and relationships we did not have. But feasibility does not turn infrastructure into evidence. We optimized for the work that was available, not necessarily the work that mattered most.

8. Rivals were named more often than operationalized

Political economy, state capacity, path dependence, infrastructure, technology substitution, preference change, conventional deception, and physical recovery time appear as rivals. Too often they appear as categories rather than models with distinct predictions. A rival that has no unit, measure, expected observation, and decision rule cannot defeat the preferred framework.

The forum's rival-model court was a useful internal discipline. It still used the project's vocabulary and evidence packet. The strongest test would state the rival in its advocate's own terms before Repair-Lag is introduced, predeclare what each model expects, and identify a result that gives the rival priority. "Repair-Lag includes the rival" is not a victory; it is a warning that the framework may be unfalsifiably broad.

9. Retrospective balance did not solve selection bias

Adding successful-repair and boundary cases corrected a failure-only selection pattern. Montreal and other cases can show that not every pressure ends in collapse and that institutional control and physical recovery differ. Yet the cases remain retrospective. Analytic thresholds were formulated with knowledge of outcomes. The project has not published a prospectively selected failure/success/boundary comparison with compatible measures, nor a record of rejected cases.

Retrospective work can generate hypotheses and refine concepts. It cannot establish that the framework predicted the outcome or outperformed a rival. The Darwin standpoint again matters: an explanatory vocabulary selected after observing the environment will often look adapted to it.

10. Source organization exceeded source verification

Sources are classified, deduplicated, connected to claims and cases, and accompanied by limitations. Readers can see many gaps. But passage-level pinpoints, freshness coverage, contradiction mapping, inclusion and exclusion procedures, independence clusters, and full citation verification remain incomplete. Official programme sources can establish rules or self-reported performance without independently establishing causation, equity, or legitimacy.

The project made sources inspectable at the record level before it made many claims auditable at the proposition level. A serious continuation would choose fewer claims, verify their exact passages, document search and selection procedures, solicit domain challenge, and publish contradictions. Adding another source row should no longer count as progress unless it changes a live uncertainty.

11. Internal correction was measured more easily than external consequence

Revision counts, test counts, audit catches, report counts, and checksum parity are observable. Whether a central claim changes after a failed test or consequential external criticism is not yet observable because neither event has occurred. The project could therefore demonstrate responsiveness to its own checks while leaving its intellectual center untouched.

The method commitment M1 is strongest when it asks whether correction is timely and consequential. So far, correction has mostly followed internal critique, release defects, or consistency failures. That demonstrates learning capacity. It does not demonstrate that the project would demote or retire Repair-Lag when an external result goes against it.

III. Governance, participation, and legitimacy failures

12. Simulated plurality arrived before real plurality

The ten core and twenty advisor standpoints improved the range of objections available inside the project. Independent first passes, steelmanning, adversarial pairings, dissent ledgers, and explicit dispositions are better than an undifferentiated synthetic voice. The repeated disclosure that named figures did not participate is essential.

The limitation is structural. The standpoints share model priors, project materials, language, and incentives. They can converge too easily on constructive repairs that preserve the project. They do not risk reputation, bring unpublished domain knowledge, resist the framing from lived experience, or exercise a right to refuse. Prestige can still leak through a disclaimer: a reader sees Meadows or Arendt attached to a conclusion even when the text says the person was not involved.

The Habermas standpoint asks whether the procedure included an actual public capable of contesting the terms. The answer is no. The Arendt standpoint asks whether plurality can be simulated without people appearing to one another as distinct actors. It cannot. The forum is an internal criticism technology, not a miniature public sphere.

13. The people most affected remained absent

No verified participant affected by fertility policy, care burdens, climate transition, synthetic media, platform governance, authoritarian classification, public-truth institutions, acid deposition, or the project's own accessibility choices took part in defining harms, boundaries, criteria, or remedies. No rights-holder or situated-knowledge process reviewed the historical synthesis. No consent, compensation, response-right, conflict, or criteria-co-definition procedure was exercised.

The project often asked who was absent. Asking did not give the absent person standing. Ethical language remained author-defined. This is especially important where "repair" could justify intervention into intimate life or contested political speech.

Affected-party participation is not always simple or automatically representative. Direct participation can be unsafe, extractive, or impossible. But the project did not reach the stage of documenting those choices with actual people. High-risk claims should therefore remain developing or be retired from prescriptive use.

14. Owner control remained necessary and insufficient

Hulki Okan Tabak's authorship and release authority are clear. Explicit authorization before merge, deployment, successor creation, and visibility is a sound governance boundary. It prevents agents or automation from converting implementation momentum into publication authority.

One-person authority is not independent scientific, ethical, security, or accessibility clearance. The owner approved releases after a process whose forum, implementation, tests, and synthesis were internally generated. The v2 clean-successor design reduces disclosure risk, but it does not distribute intellectual authority.

A public repository may allow independent continuation. It does not retroactively create peer review, community ownership, or a maintained commons. The proposed successor is intentionally a static continuation corpus, not a complete reproducible copy of the private build system. Forkers will receive the public reasoning, records, artifacts, and continuation guidance, but not the sealed operating history or private generator context. That is the correct privacy choice and a real limitation on reproducibility.

IV. Editorial, reader-experience, and accessibility failures

15. The project published too many ways of being current

Claims, theory pages, reports, narration, dashboards, cases, sources, editions, reading packs, compatibility routes, archived files, and current summaries all had defensible purposes. Together they created recurrent semantic drift. A correction in a registry could coexist with a confident sentence in a report, an old numeric score in a PDF, a legacy claim count in narration, or a search result landing on a superseded page.

Lifecycle manifests, one-source rules, immutable versioning, current/superseded dispositions, canonical links, and state-reconciliation tests repaired much of the operational confusion. The v2 stopping and continuation routes may improve the final orientation. Yet the archive still contains historically accurate versions of mistakes, as it should, and offline readers may not follow the current disposition. The right invariant is not "update every document." It is "leave no unlabeled conflict on a current surface."

16. The evidence machine sometimes obstructed the essay

The intended public voice was a living essay with an inspectable evidence machine behind it. Too often the machine moved to the foreground. Raw identifiers, field lists, status taxonomies, long warnings, source grids, and internal distinctions raised the entry cost. General readers could meet the database before the argument; experts could still find the underlying methods incomplete.

Forum hubs, start routes, case entry points, diagrams, time promises, narration pages, and the v1.9.2 print/share controls improved navigation. They did not prove comprehension. Repeated disclosures may also produce warning fatigue: important page-specific risks can become indistinguishable from global boilerplate.

The editorial failure was not a lack of clarity at sentence level. It was a failure to choose fewer canonical journeys and accept that most readers do not need the whole apparatus. A public reference should let a person understand the central question, one strong objection, one case, and the current evidence boundary before exposing registries.

17. Saveability and shareability improved, but they were not accessibility

v1.9.2 made every generated page printable and saveable through the browser, added canonical sharing and permalink behavior, improved print presentation, and linked structured reports to narration routes and immutable PDFs. Those are useful reader repairs. Browser-created PDFs remain convenience copies, not governed editions. Native mobile sharing and operating-system print behavior were not established by desktop automation.

The report and narration PDFs are separate editorial products in one family. Narration improves listening access, but it omits or adapts tables, citations, and visual structure. It is not an equivalent accessible edition. Selectable text is not tagging. Automated heading or link checks are not a screen-reader session. A long description is not proof that a diagram works under zoom or forced colors.

The open record remains substantial: actual iOS Home Screen installation, narrow mobile and touch, native share sheets, OS printing, 200% and 400% zoom, forced colors, no-JavaScript use, tagged-PDF or equivalent access, real screen readers, and real reader comprehension. These require people and devices, not more simulated profiles.

18. We did not know enough about readers

The five reader profiles were careful artifact reviews, not five users. They did not supply observed task failures, completion time, quotes, comprehension, affect, fatigue, trust, return behavior, or assistive-technology barriers. The same model family generated all perspectives.

The project improved the site partly in response to those profiles, and bounded browser checks found useful defects. That is legitimate internal QA. It must not be described as usability evidence. We still do not know whether a reader understands the theory's limits, can find the strongest rival, recognizes a historical edition, or feels invited rather than overwhelmed.

V. Repository, publication, privacy, and security failures

19. Security was reactive before it became systematic

Earlier releases added boundary controls after concrete defects: an immutable pack could be rebuilt under a published filename; workflow filters missed generator dependencies; an unused cockpit stylesheet entered an early artifact; analytics and operational classifications persisted in a superseded pack. The v2 audit then found a public private-repository endpoint, an over-broad continuation export, image metadata, mutable workflow references, unpinned font identity, unsafe canonical metadata, credential-shaped fixtures, Git-history and control-plane gaps, permissive CSP false greens, and multiple PNG parser false greens.

The later adversarial work did more than accept green scanner output. It showed that a manifest-synchronized PNG could hide credential-shaped data, that Pillow accepted residual decompressed bytes, and that a shortened palette could retain invalid pixels. The corrected gate checks exact payloads, scanlines, filters, palette semantics, size, decompression, and decoded pixels. Here process earned its cost.

It also reveals the sequencing failure. Privacy and release-threat modeling should have preceded the expansion of archives, analytics, generators, and public artifacts. The controls became sophisticated because the surface had already become sophisticated.

20. Technical assurance was repeatedly at risk of sounding broader than it was

CI can show that declared invariants passed on an exact commit. Artifact inspection can show byte contents, links, routes, metadata, and absence of known forbidden material. Live checks can show selected files and routes at a particular time. None of these is a penetration test, privacy certification, legal opinion, accessibility certification, or guarantee against unknown vulnerabilities.

The v2 gate now states this boundary clearly. It separates source, generated site, exported corpus, binaries, clean Git history, repository settings, anonymous access, live website, and visibility. It treats scanner error as failure and redacts detected values. The operating repository remains private; a separate successor must be created privately and audited before visibility.

Those are candidate controls until final evidence exists. A green local export cannot establish the remote tree. A private successor cannot be called anonymous-safe before an unauthenticated clone and archive test. A public site cannot be called free of passive requests before the exact live network surface is checked. A report cannot announce its own release commit from inside that commit. The project learned these distinctions late and expensively.

21. Immutable provenance sometimes competed with safety and truth

Immutability is valuable because it prevents silent revision. It also preserves mistakes, outdated analytics, misleading scores, and potentially sensitive material. The withdrawn ED-PACK-001 case showed that "never overwrite" is not a complete safety policy. The candidate appropriately removes the pack from active delivery while retaining a private provenance record.

The correct rule is conditional: preserve prior public editions unless rights, privacy, safety, or law require withdrawal; then remove harmful bytes, retain a public-safe tombstone and reason, and do not pretend the artifact never existed. Similarly, immutable completion PDFs must use release-neutral wording before first publication so mutable repository state does not force an in-place rewrite.

22. The public successor is intentionally incomplete as software

An early successor design exported a partial Python package and advertised build and test commands even though private registries required by those commands were excluded. That was a false reproducibility claim. The candidate now describes the successor as a continuation corpus without workflows, executable package, site generator, tests, or dependency lock.

This is more honest and less convenient. People will be free to read, cite, fork, adapt, and continue from the public materials, but they will not receive a drop-in reproduction of the private publication machinery. The separation protects private history and internal records. It also means "continue from where we left" refers to intellectual and documentary continuity, not identical operational continuity.

VI. Project-management and resource-allocation failures

23. Version velocity exceeded learning velocity

The project moved through many numbered releases in a short period. Some releases repaired meaningful reader and safety problems. But every version created more current-state claims, checksums, archive paths, lineage rows, tests, reports, and reconciliation work. Research maturity could appear to rise with version number even when no new test or external review occurred.

The project became caught in a loop: build a new surface, create controls for the surface, find drift among the controls, publish a reconciliation, then create more records to prevent recurrence. State-only closure work was sometimes necessary. Its recurrence was evidence that the surface area exceeded the available reconciliation capacity.

24. The governance system became partly self-referential

Project-local skills, Learning Passes, decision records, roadmaps, status manifests, report registries, source indexes, audit reports, and release evidence improved continuity across Chat, Work, Codex, GitHub, and the site. They also became a second project: a governance system whose outputs could be mistaken for learning about society.

The RPT68 Learning Pass is valuable because it records concrete failures and changed rules. Learning Passes are not valuable merely because every sprint has one. A skill version is justified when a real failure changes reusable practice; otherwise it is administrative motion. The project sometimes spent more care versioning how it worked than testing whether its central explanation worked.

25. We overengineered before proving the minimum intellectual product

The project is technically overbuilt relative to its empirical maturity.

There are more publication controls than completed tests, more simulated standpoints than real reviewers, more fields than mature cases, more artifacts than prospective results, and more verification language than accessibility sessions. Finalization adds a clean export, sealed crosswalk, successor design, release placeholders, settings audit, correction ferry, binary scanners, exact CSP, and metadata governance to hand off a provisional corpus.

Some complexity paid for itself: it protected private history, found boundary defects, removed analytics, clarified licensing, and made handoff safer. The mistake would be to keep expanding the machine. These controls are proportionate to one bounded successor after extensive private operating work, not a template for every continuation or a reason to postpone the hiatus.

26. We optimized for available labor rather than highest-value uncertainty

With limited resources, it was easier to improve a schema, write a report, add a test, generate a PDF, or reconcile a release than to recruit reviewers, compensate affected participants, verify a literature at passage level, obtain domain data, or run longitudinal comparisons. The project therefore accumulated high-quality internal work around low-quality external contact.

This was understandable and still a failure of allocation. The highest-value unanswered questions were stable for several releases: Does Repair-Lag add a distinct prediction? Would a political-economy or domain expert reject the framing? Would affected people accept the value and criterion? Can a screen-reader user navigate the publications? Do real readers understand the boundaries? The project repeatedly chose tasks it could complete without those people.

The hiatus should end that substitution. If future work cannot obtain the evidence or participation needed to change conclusions, it should not compensate by producing another conceptual layer or delivery system.

VIII. Who and what were absent

The following absences are not footnotes. They define the boundary of the project:

IX. Why good process did not validate the theories

The project needs an explicit firewall between procedural achievement and substantive warrant.

  1. A passed test proves only the tested invariant. A route test can establish that a link exists. It cannot establish that a reader understands the page or that the theory is true.
  2. A checksum proves byte identity. It does not prove factual accuracy, ethical legitimacy, accessibility, or causal validity.
  3. A source count proves inventory size. It does not prove independence, relevance, passage accuracy, freshness, or support for a mechanism.
  4. A simulated forum proves that a structured internal exercise occurred. It does not prove that a named thinker would agree, that a field has reviewed the work, or that affected people consent.
  5. A successful audit proves a bounded absence of known findings in an exact inspected surface. It does not prove the absence of unknown vulnerabilities, hidden meaning, legal risk, or inaccessible experience.
  6. A visible correction proves some capacity to learn. It does not prove that the project would surrender its central claim after a failed test.
  7. A polished publication improves communication. It can also increase the persuasive force of an under-tested idea.
  8. A public repository enables access and forking. It does not confer scientific legitimacy, community governance, maintenance, or operational reproducibility.

The process matters because it reduces avoidable error and makes criticism easier. Its proper role is to expose where warrant ends, not to extend warrant by association.

X. The honest hiatus

The author-led public reference can be called completed only if the remaining v2.0.0 release, disclosure, deployment, clean-successor, and separate visibility gates close on exact evidence. If they do not close, the work may still stop responsibly, but v2.0.0 must remain an unreleased candidate with its blockers recorded.

A future continuation should reopen the research only for work capable of changing those statements. The highest-value paths remain: complete and adversarially lock T001 before outcome inspection; execute and publish a discriminating result regardless of direction; deepen the legacy cases and missing boundary case; verify sources at passage level; obtain real domain, methods, political-economy, affected-party, rights-holder, accessibility, and reader review; and create a genuinely accessible successor edition in response to observed needs.

None of these is a promise by the original author. Independent continuers may reject the theory, split the domains, retain only the essay, replace the method, or show that the central sentence adds no explanatory value. That freedom is part of the point of a public successor.

The project's most credible final act is not to claim closure. It is to stop adding architecture, publish the bounded reference safely, preserve the failures beside the achievements, and leave the next person a clear choice: test it, narrow it, transform it, or walk away.
